For months they tried to avoid being seen together. But it seems Dev Patel and Freida Pinto are no longer shy about their relationship.

The pair walked through London hand-in-hand today, as they shopped for a new computer.

Smiling and laughing, it seemed they didn't care who saw them.

Freida, 24, wrapped up warm against the winter chill in a jumper decorated with colourful beads and a long stripy scarf.

The Indian actress is currently based in London, filming Woody Allen's film You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger.

It means she gets to spend plenty of time with 19-year-old Dev, who she met when they co-starred in hit film Slumdog Millionaire.

It was revealed yesterday that Slumdog, directed by Danny Boyle, was the most rented DVD of 2009. The Oscar-winning romance beat George Clooney's comedy Burn After Reading to the top spot.

According to an onlooker, the couple were "wrapped arm in arm, whispering into each other’s ears" as they checked in at the Hard Rock Hotel San Diego's VIP green room. Ever the gentleman, Patel even carried Pinto's bags.

Calling it a night after a romantic dinner at Nobu, Pinto and Patel spent the next day checking out the sights of San Diego including both SeaWorld and the San Diego Zoo.

"They brought out this cat called an ocelot named Diego! Have you seen him? He is so soft and cute.” Pinto was overheard gushing as she walked through the hotel lobby after their outings."We did the VIP tour and got the feed the animals. We saw and did so much.”

With a memorable, whirlwind weekend behind them, the two left the city with some flair. They skipped the freeway traffic by jumping on train for a scenic ride back to Los Angeles.
